By painting from observation with only 5 tonal values, you’ll learn why tone is crucial, and why Pablo Picasso said “color is nothing, tone is everything.” Tone expresses color, three-dimensionality, weight, depth, texture, and more. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a finished, ready-to-hang painting and a deeper understanding of color, tone, and the world around us!

Each painting will be completely different! You’ll receive personalized feedback throughout the session.
The workshop will take place at Nikusha Beatty Art Studio in Barracks 14, Suite 208. The class is 3 hours. All supplies included.
Please arrive on time. There is plenty of parking available. The art studio is located upstairs from Hot Spot Pottery and Point Loma Tea. There is an elevator on the right side of the building, next to the Hot Spot Pottery.
